Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans Grabs Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over Rockridge

Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans nabbed the lead late in the game in an 11-5 victory over Rockridge Junior Varsity Rockets on Thursday. Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Andrew Way singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Rockridge Junior Varsity Rockets scored three runs in the second inning, but Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans still managed to pull out the victory. The offensive onslaught by Rockridge Junior Varsity Rockets was led by Liam Steele and Ryan Oelke, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Rockridge Junior Varsity Rockets opened up scoring in the first inning, when Owen Steele singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans evened things up at four in the bottom of the fourth inning. An error scored one run for Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans.

Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans put up four runs in the sixth inning. Clay Casteel and Payton Haines all drove in runs in the frame.

Max Ferguson was on the mound for Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans. The righthander surrendered five runs on six hits over five innings, striking out seven.

Brady Bigford led things off on the mound for Rockridge Junior Varsity Rockets. The pitcher allowed eight hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out five. Clayton Blumenstein threw two innings in relief.

Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Dante Mettler, Way, Elliott Rogers, and Haines each had multiple hits for Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans. Mettler went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Monmouth-Roseville Junior Varsity Titans in hits.

Oelke led Rockridge Junior Varsity Rockets with three hits in four at bats.

Titans improve to 10-5 on the season
