The Annual Monmouth Rotary Club BBQ Pork Chop dinner is set for Tuesday, June 13th at the Pattee Plaza in Downtown Monmouth beginning at 4:30 pm on a first come, first serve basis for a freewill donation. President Stephanie Hilton shares proceeds from the event are given back to the local community:
“All of the funds that are raised help cover the cost of the meal and then anything over that goes directly back into the community. We do not keep any of those funds for our clubs, Last year the money went to the classroom project at the Buchanan Art Center. Other years it has gone to the Splash Pad, the Jamieson Community Center, or the backpack program. We have done a lot in the community with those funds.”
An average of 700 meals are served annually.
