Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 2, 2023:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior softball player, Jordin Mason. Jordin has been a major factor in her team’s two wins this season. She went 4-for-5 at the plate in a win over United and 3-for-4 in a victory over Galva. Jordin has gotten off to a great start this season, hitting .500 so far with 3 rbis in five games.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior track and field athlete, Konner Elliott. Konner’s performance contributed many points towards his team’s first annual Red Storm Invitational team title. He was a part of three successful relays, as the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 teams all won their respective events. Konner added a few more points by taking 2nd in the long jump.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior softball player, Bailey Ryan. Like the entire Lady Heat squad, Bailey has gotten her season off to a great start. She went 2-for-4 with a double and a team-leading three rbis in a win over Bushnell-Prairie City. Through the first five games, Bailey is tied for 2nd on the team in hits, 3rd in batting average and tied for 1st in stolen bases.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior baseball player, Tristan Legate. Tristan had fantastic week, both at the plate and on the mound. Among his five hits, were a double, a home run and five rbis. Tristan pitched seven innings in a WB6 victory against Quincy, scattering six hits with a pair strikeouts, earning the win.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior baseball player, Dawson Fenton. Dawson has gotten as hot at the plate as the entire Tornado team. In three wins last week, he went 5-for-10, including three doubles. Dawson also scored seven runs and knocked in six runs.
