WMOI/WRAM Program of the Month Recharge Teen Center Celebrating One-Year Anniversary

The WMOI and WRAM Program of the Month is the Recharge Teen Center in Monmouth, courtesy of MTC Communications and the Regional Office of Education #33. Celebrating their one-year anniversary, the Recharge Teen Center provides a safe space for local teens to gather after school while offering programs and events for the teens to participate in. With an average of 25 to 30 teens per day, Recharge Teen Center Coordinator Amy Rogers informs they are currently applying for grants for an outdoor space:

“We are in the process of applying for grants that would provide an outdoor space for us. The parking lot that is attached to Recharge is our parking lot. When the weather has been nice, we have had kids out there and have had times when the ball has rolled into Main Street. We are going to be putting up a temporary fence; however, we are more interested in getting some funding or doing some fundraising that would allow us a larger outdoor space that is safe with a fence. That is probably one of the most important things we are thinking about right now.”

The Recharge Teen Center is currently open Mondays through Thursdays 3 to 6 pm and 2 to 6 pm on Fridays.
