Burlington Police Arrest Oquawka Man Connected to Convenience Store Robbery

Oquawka, Illinois man arrested for robbing Burlington convenience store.

Burlington Police detectives were able to obtain a license plate number for the vehicle used in the robbery of the Phillips 66 convenience store on May 8, 2023. Detectives were able to determine a link between the vehicle and an address in Oquawka, Illinois. Detectives went to Oquawka and located the vehicle at a residence. Detectives knocked on the door of the residence and the suspect from the robbery answered the door.

Arrested:

Brennan Carl Duttweiler, 18

Homeless

Oquawka, Illinois

Charged with:

Theft 1st degree: Class C felony

Robbery 2nd degree: Class C felony

The Burlington Police Department was assisted by the Henderson County, Illinois Sheriff’s Office and the Oquawka, Illinois Police Department.

Burlington Police detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Phillips 66, 1900 Summer Street, just before 6:00am this morning. At 6:02am the convenience store clerk called DESCOM and reported the robbery. Burlington Police Officers responded to the scene and were told by the female clerk that a man entered the store, brandished a handgun and demanded money. The clerk said she gave the man her purse and he fled from the store. No one was injured during the robbery.
