CDC To End Community COVID Tracking

Share

The CDC is going to stop tracking the spread of COVID-19 in communities across the US.  Previously, the agency used a color-coding system to track the transmission of COVID in every county.  On Friday the agency announced they’ll be moving away from tracking community level transmission and instead focus on COVID-related hospitalizations.  They say due to the number of reported cases steadily falling and the availability of at-home tests increasing, it’s difficult to get a realistic view of how much the virus is circulating.  They’ll end community level tracking on May 11th, when the national public health emergency also expires.
