Derek L. Lovell, 31, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 9:07 pm, Monday, May 8, 2023 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth, IL.

Derek was born December 16, 1991 in Macomb, IL, the son of Harry and Bethany (Griffin) Lovell.  He was raised and educated in Monmouth graduating from PASS Alternative High School in 2007.

Derek married Ceaira Groves in Monmouth on May 5, 2012 and she survives.

Derek worked at Circle K in Monmouth.

He loved spending time with his children.  He also enjoyed outdoor activities, playing his video games, cooking out and sports.

Survivors include his wife, Ceaira Lovell; 4 children, Deliyah Lovell, Camden Lovell, Jeremy Lovell and Malia Lovell all of Monmouth; his parents, Bethany Lovell of Monmouth and Harry Lovell of St. David, IL; 6 siblings, Steven Lovell of Newton, IA, Gary Lovell of Macomb, IL, Jessica  (Richard) Mitchell of Pekin, IL, Jennifer (Colton) Allen of Industry, IL, Stephanie Lovell of Monmouth and Tyler (Megan) Lovell of El Paso, TX; his paternal grandmother, Mary Waldo of Macomb, IL; several niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandfather.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, May 15, 2023 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to Derek Lovell Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.  For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
