Mrs. Donna K. Peters, 82, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois passed away peacefully at 10:10 p.m. at her home in Clinton, Illinois. She was born June 25, 1940, in Galesburg to Muriel S. and Amy (Stephens) Duke. She married Carl E. Peters July 13, 1962, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death May 24, 2007.

Surviving are two sons, Vincent Peters of Clinton, Illinois and Randy (and Julie) Peters of Navasota, Texas, a sister, Patty Cherrington of Dahinda, Illinois, sisters-in law Jan and Marsha Duke, grandchildren, Adrian, Ethan, Megan and Nathan, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Rodney Peters on September 10, 2011, and two brothers, Paul Duke and David Duke.

Donna was raised in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1958. She was a proud member of the GHS class of ’58 and was active in organizing the class reunions. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Galesburg, where she was active and was a Sunday School teacher. Donna was a homemaker. She loved taking care of her husband, Carl, and raising her three sons. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and her cats.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Hinchliff-Pearson- West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Her son, Vince Peters will officiate. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Medical Center, Cancer Center or to OSF Hospice Care in Bloomington, Illinois. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
