Henderson County Sheriff Matt Link Says Body Cameras Have Greatly Assisted with Writing Reports

Share

Prior to the Safety Act in Illinois stating officers and law enforcement agencies shall implement body cameras by 2025, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department had received a grant to put body cameras in place and Sheriff Matt Link says they have been extremely helpful when writing reports:

“They help us so much more too on the report writing side because we always used to try to write the report right after the incident happened. Now we are busier with less people, so we are handling the same amount of calls or more calls with less people. It takes a little bit longer for us to go back and write a report. With that body camera, we are able to go back in and view that body camera and write a report from that. It is a lot more accuracy in the reports as well.”

Additionally, Sheriff Link informs two corrections officers have graduated from the academy as the first full-time certified corrections officers for Henderson County. Also, Rachel Mast will represent the county as State’s Attorney.
