Patricia Ann Brown, age 92, of Raritan, Illinois, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at her home.  She was born April 29, 1931 near Raritan, the daughter of Doren Edwin and Ruby Maxine (Tilly) Bricker.  On April 4, 1951, she married Cecil Wayne Brown at the Raritan Baptist Church.  He preceded her in death on May 1, 2018.

Mrs. Brown was a 1949 graduate of Media-Wever High School, then attended Western Illinois University in Macomb.  She worked in the WIU library for many years, retiring in 1992.  She was an active member of the Raritan Baptist Church, and served on many of the church boards and committees.  She also was a Mary Kay representative and served on the township election board.  She enjoyed genealogy and flower gardening, and she and her husband loved traveling, and visiting her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters: Barbara Brown of Raritan, Ann (Mark) Kettelkamp of Benson, MN, one son: Philip (Peggy) Brown of Riverton, IL, seven grandchildren: Kristi Rice, Ryan Kettelkamp, Jason Brown, Patrick Brown, Bryon Brown, Ashley Podheiser, and Sarah Chaney, eleven great grandchildren, and one brother: J.D. Bricker of West Union, IA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter, Jean Chaney.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Raritan Baptist Church, with Greg McClintock officiating.  Burial will follow in the Raritan Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst.  A memorial fund has been established for the Raritan Baptist Church.
