Doug Dennison Excited About New Opportunity with the West Central Heat Boys Basketball Program

Share

Former United Red Storm boys basketball coach Doug Dennison has found a new gymnasium to call home. Dennison was officially announced last Wednesday night at the West Central School Board meeting as the new man in charge of Heat boys basketball. He has already hit the ground running, conducting open gyms and organizing youth basketball camps.

Dennison had just completed his 7th year at United this past winter, winning 99 games and a regional title along the way, when the United School Board voted not to bring him back for an 8th season. The West Central boys basketball program was looking for a new head coach, following the resignation of Dustin Brooks shortly after the 2022-23 season had completed. It didn’t take long for Dennison’s phone to ring following the announcement that he would not be brought back at United. One of those calls was from the administration at West Central High School. Dennison says he is ready to get back to work.

The West Central Heat finished (3-28) this past winter. For the full interview with new Heat boys basketball coach Doug Dennison, go to the Sport Podcast section.
