The most recent drought monitor showed severe and moderate drought spread in western Illinois. Roseville farmer Mike Moore shared his concerns on pasture conditions during the annual Halfway to Freezing for Food event.

“If we don’t get some rain, we don’t want to be hauling water. Hopefully, we get some rain, the creeks don’t dry up and we get more grass to grow.”
Pasture conditions in the most recent Crop Progress and Condition Report were 10 percent very poor, 19 percent poor, 49 percent fair, 21 percent good, and 1 percent excellent.
