Freedom Ride Animal Rescue Hosting Free Pet Microchip Clinic in Monmouth on June 10th

Freedom Ride Animal Rescue and Transport Service is a non profit organization that brings animals to safety, oversees a legacy fund, and is involved with outreach programs, like their upcoming free microchip clinic. Co-founder Phil Cooper shares micro-chipping is an easy process and could be life saving for your pet:

“So many animals come into shelters with absolutely no reference on who they belong to. The process is real simple. It is just the insertion of a tiny data chip subdurally underneath the skin of the pet. It is done with a syringe, so it is no more painful to the animal than taking them to get their annual rabies vaccination or shots. On that microchip that is implanted, is contact information for the owner of the animal. We have a licensed vet tech that will actually be doing the procedure and after that, that is all there is to it. It is so simple, but yet so important in terms of being able to get lost or stray animals back to their owners.”

The mobile microchip clinic will be held Saturday, June 10th from noon to 3 pm at Farm King outside Monmouth.
