Henderson County Deputies Arrest Nauvoo Man on Drug Charges

Henderson County Sheriff Matthew Link announces the arrest of a Nauvoo, IL man for multiple drug charges. On Sunday, June 18th, 2023 at 4:31pm, a Deputy stopped a vehicle on US 34 at 1350E for a traffic violation. While the Deputy spoke with the occupants of the vehicle he could smell the odor of cannabis. A subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants the Deputy found Madison G. Sterne (age 68) to be in possession of several controlled substances.

The Deputy located pills that were not prescribed to Sterne, alprazolam and MDMA (ecstasy). The Deputy also located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Sterne’s possession. Sterne has been charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 1 Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (Class 3 Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).

Sterne is currently held in the Henderson County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

Sterne is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
