Chairman of the City of Monmouth’s Police and Fire Board, Robert Spud Riley has announced his retirement, shares Mayor Rod Davies:

“One of our Police and Fire Commissioners, Robert Spud Riley, has served on the Police and Fire Commission for a number of years and he decided to retire and so I appointed Steve Birditt to fill that position and council approved that appointment. We appreciate Steve’s willingness to serve and he has been wanting to serve for some time, but we had an opening and were able to get him appointed, so that will be a nice addition.”

Additionally, as road resurfacing projects have begun across the City of Monmouth, City Council recently approved a contract with IMEG to resurface North 6th between Broadway and Euclid once the water main project is completed.
