Monmouth JFL Cowboys Narrowly Miss Champ Game in 2022, Gearing Up for Another Run

Share

After a two-year hiatus, the Monmouth Cowboys JFL football program made a comeback in the fall of 2022. The Cowboys had a long and succesful run in both the Galesburg Tackle JFL Organization and the Macomb Junior Football League, before the Macomb League transitioned to a modified football league, essentially a flag football league in 2018. The Cowboys switched back to the Galesburg League in 2018 and 2019 but did not field a team in 2020 and 2021 due to low numbers and the coronavirus pandemic. Here’s Monmouth JFL board member Josie Thomas with more information on the league and the upcoming sign-up night.

The games will be played on Sundays starting in August on the artificial turf field at Galesburg High School, with games starting at 1:00 and 3:00. All players will need to have at least a sports physical to play in the league. Again, for more information, go to the Monmouth JFL Cowboys 2023 Facebook page or contact Josie Thomas at (309) 714-9704.
