MTC Communications Actively Building High-Speed Internet in Rural Areas

Share

The McDonough Telephone Cooperative, or MTC Communications, has received an $18 million ReConnect Grant to expand their high-speed internet even further into rural areas. With several builds throughout Warren, Henderson, Hancock, Schuyler, and McDonough Counties, Marketing Director Rachel Kerns explains homeowners can request for builds to move into their area:

“You can go in and put your address in and see if you are in one of our active service areas where we already have fiber throughout the whole town or if you are not, we are actively collecting interest all over the place to look for potential builds in the future. We also have our ARDF Grant areas that we are building out and our ReConnect Grant areas that we are waiting to hear more information back from the government, but that puts us in a lot of very rural areas that desperately need that reliable connection. If it tells you no initially, don’t be disheartened, we might be building there in the future. So, visit mtcfiber.net.”

With the extended fiber builds, over 1,500 people, 274 farms, and 41 businesses will receive high-speed internet through MTC.
