Richard Lee Boynton, 58, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away June 8, 2023 at OSF St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington, Illinois.

He was born on January 3, 1965 in Galesburg to Paul Boynton and Sally (Buck) Vacca. Richard has one son, Kalip Wallace; two grandchildren, Cylas and Karlie Wallace all of Louisiana; many siblings, John Anderson, David Fowler, Stacey Fowler, Mary (Steve) Powell, Danielle (Jason) Peterson, Samantha (Jack) Boynton, Bobbette (James) Rammage, and James (Leslie) Boynton all of Galesburg; many aunts, uncles, and a gang full of nieces and nephews.

Richard was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He liked watching NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing and had a deep love for rock-n-roll music and loved to play the drums. He worked odd jobs painting and construction until his health declined.

Richard is now at peace with his parents, Paul Boynton, Sally and Joseph Vacca; loving sister, Paula Boynton; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Memorial visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. No funeral services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
