Roney L. Noble, 62, of Galesburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at home with family present.

He was born in Galesburg on July 10, 1960 to Kenneth Noble and Bertha Mesecher Noble. He attended Coldbrook School, Steele Middle School, Churchill Jr. High and graduated from Galesburg Senior High in 1978. While in school he ran track and cross country.

Ron is survived by his wife of 33 years, Teresa Noble; son, James and Lauren (Hart) Noble of Galesburg, IL.; daughter, Maggie and Cody Ricker of Aurora, CO; stepson, Robert Lee of Galesburg; also two young men who he considered like sons, AJ and Rebecca Fawcett of Galesburg and David Smith of Houston, TX.; two brothers, Rick and Colleen Hill of Bristol, WI. and Randy and Penny Flynn of Galesburg; and his foster cousin, Mark and Jane St. Clare of Rio, IL. He is also survived by a special group of people he considered his family; the families of Don and Nancy Brown, Ned and Mary Brown, and Chris and Michelle Tracy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Kenneth Noble; his grandparents, Ray and Hazel Mesecher; his foster father, Chuck Potter; and his father-in-law, Robert Lee who he considered his best friend.

Ron started farming when he was 30 with Jim Purlee and Purlee Farms and continued for the next 33 years. Farming was in his blood and he loved it.

Ron was a past president of the Galesburg Jaycees, a proud member of the Lake Bracken Country Club and a 20 year Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 226 out of the Knights of Columbus. He always said that being a Scout Master was the most aggravating and enjoyable time he had. He helped 30 boys receive the honor of Eagle Scout, this included both of his sons, while he was the Scout Master.

He was also a Past Vice President of the Knox County Corn Growers, a Lifetime member of the IL Corn Growers, and a Lifetime member of the NRA.

Rons humor (bad jokes) and friendship will be missed by all who got to know him.

Cremation will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
