West Central IL ROSC Provides ‘System of Care’ for the Road to Recovery

Share

West Central Illinois Recovery Oriented System of Care, or ROSC, provides individuals with the needed resources toward recovery that address mental health and substance use through a coordinated network of community-based services. System of Care Coordinator Leann Courson, says no one is in the fight alone and to have those conversations with others:

“People are becoming more vocal about it. They don’t have to suffer in silence anymore. They can talk about their mental health or their addiction or substance use disorder and get the help they need because we are trying to end the stigma around it. Most of them are diseases, substance use is a disease, that are completely treatable. One of the best things we can do is have conversations on mental health and substance use disorder and normalize those conversations and normalize people seeking treatment, receiving treatment, and receiving after care.”

Courson states over 24 million Americans are in recovery.
