Donald E. Fredrickson, 82, of Seaton, IL, passed away at 6:19 am, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center East, Davenport, IA.

Don was born on May 5, 1941 in Aledo, IL, the son of Everett A. and Bertha (Ranney) Fredrickson.  Don was raised and educated in the Little York area and graduated from Little York High School in 1959.  He attended Augustana College and was a member of the Choir and did a 6-week tour of Europe and for the last two weeks of the trip performed nightly concerts in Sweden.

Don married Judith Kay Squire on July 28, 1963 in Galesburg, IL; she survives. 

Don farmed his entire adult life in the Seaton area. Don also worked at Munson Transportation in Monmouth as an office manager for several years.  He later worked at GE as a Wire-Matic operator until his retirement in 2005.  Don and Judy lived in Galesburg, Biggsville, and rural Seaton.  Don was a member of the Little Cedar Church, Little York. He was a 50-year member of the Vesper Lodge, Moline Consistory, and the Mohammed Shriners of Peoria.  His pride and joy were spending as much time with his children and grandchildren as possible.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Fredrickson of Seaton; his children, Lane (Karen) Fredrickson of Seaton, Lynette (Mike) Roquemore of Dayton, OH, and Shawnna (Bill) Maupin of Burlington, IA. 7 grandchildren, Brandon Fredrickson, Cole (Megan) Fredrickson, Preston Fredrickson, Emma Mayhew, Sam Mayhew, Justin Roquemore, Kaytlyn (Derrick) Balzer; numerous nieces and nephews


He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LaJune Ricketts; and brother, Paul Fredrickson. 

Graveside Services will be at 12:30 pm, Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Belmont Cemetery, Seaton, IL.  Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:30 am, Saturday morning at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Little Cedar Church, Genesis Medical Center East or Shriners Children’s Hospital.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
