John Thomas Rogers, 57, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully at home with his family by his side at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

John was born May 21, 1966 in Galesburg, the son of Frank Carl and Judith Ann (Bradford) Rogers. John worked for many years at the family business, R&B Distributors. He later began driving a truck for Swift Transportation.

John is survived by his parents, Frank and Judy of Galesburg; one daughter, Signa Amelia (Jeff) Kinzer of Dallas, Texas; one son, John T. Rogers, Jr., “J.T.” of Dallas, Texas; and two sisters, Elizabeth (Mark) Crouch of Galesburg and Diane (Mike) Budde of Galesburg. John is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Rogers Perry on January 1, 2017.

John was the life of the party. If he was there, you knew it. No matter what the circumstances, John always had a smile on his face. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. Always ready to strike up a conversation, John never encountered a stranger. He was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. John loved candy and always had a piece to give. He was an avid golfer and carded two holes-in-one. But more than anything John loved his children and was proud of their accomplishments.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Cancer Care Foundation, 336 Home Blvd., Galesburg, IL 61401. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
