Margaret Elizabeth Hagler, 72, of Henderson, Illinois, died peacefully at home, Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 10:13 a.m.
Margaret was born September 1, 1950 in Mounds, Illinois, the daughter of Ivo and Perliner (Rodgers) Everett. After graduating high school, Margaret attended and received her A.A.S. at Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg, Illinois. Margaret married Earl Luarther Hagler on April 8, 1977 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2018.
Margaret is survived by three sons, Daryl (Miranda) Hagler of Galesburg, Logan Hagler and Drake Hagler both of Henderson; two daughters, Gaynell (Sam) Wheeler of Shenandoah, Iowa and Latrice (Robert) Peterson of Galesburg; twelve grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Bobby Everett of Chicago, Illinois; and three sisters, Julia Jones, Virginia (Donald) Johnson, and Alice Dickey all of Chicago, Illinois. Along with her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by one son, Charles Posey on December 3, 2018; one daughter, Tanasha Hagler on January 27, 2022; and eight siblings.
Margaret loved cleaning. She spent seventeen years as a housekeeper. Margaret was a member of Jehovah Witness-Kingdom Hall and was part of the witnessing group every Wednesday. She was proud of her family and loved to take care of them.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Henderson Town Hall, Henderson, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
