The Western Illinois University men’s track and field department has announced their recruiting class for the upcoming school year. 2023 Monmouth-Roseville graduate Jerome Jackson is a part of the incoming class. Jackson was a 6x class 2A state track and field qualifier. His personal bests are 22.37 in the 200 meters and 21′ 10.25″ in the long jump. He just missed qualifying for the finals in the 100 meter dash at this past springs IHSA Class 2A state finals. His time was .07 behind the final qualifier in the prelims. He was 17th in the 200 meter prelims at the same state final and was 13th in the long jump.

Leatherneck men’s and women’s track head coach Trey Brokaw, a 2008 graduate of Monmouth-Roseville High School and senior class president while there, ran in college at Emporia State. Brokaw was team captain and part of the squad that placed fifth at the Division II Indoor National Championships in 2011. That team followed up their fifth-place finish indoors with a fourth-place finish at the Division II Outdoor National Championships.
