Monmouth Little Lions League Baseball Tournament Changed Once Again

Share

Due to the dangerous air quality from the Canadian wildfires all last week and the torrential downpour in area yesterday, the Monmouth Little Lions Baseball League postseason tournament has yet to get underway. Much better air and no rain in the forecast for Thursday should allow the tourney to get started tonight at Harmon Park. The tournament is normally a double-elimination format but since it has been postponed for over a week, the format has been changed to single-elimination. The first round will be tonight and feature the #2 and #3 seeded teams in both the minor and major league. The winner of tonight’s games will take on the top seed in each league on Tuesday night in a winner-take-all championship match up. Tonight has Whitman Law Office and Kehoe Eye Care at 5:30, with the major league game between Stombaugh Law Office and Leary’s Construction at 7:30. The minor league game winner will play at 5:30 on Tuesday against top-seed Midwest Bank, while the major league game winning team will move on to the 7:30 championship game on Tuesday night against top-seeded Stanton Insurance.
