Monmouth-Roseville Graduate Kendyl Kane Says Family and Involvement Shaped Her Future Goals

Share

Each year, the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau awards scholarships to local students furthering their education in agriculture. Monmouth-Roseville graduate Kendyl Kane was one of the recipients of the scholarships. In the fall, Kane will be attending Southeastern Community College/

“Right now I’m thinking about going for agriculture sales to be a sales representative or going to be ag teacher and two very different things but two things I’m highly interested in.”

While in high school, Kane was active in FFA, serving as the Monmouth-Roseville chapter President her senior year and competing in a variety of competitions such as ag sales. Her involvement in FFA has her looking into a career as an agricultural sales representative. However, it’s her sister’s experience as a teacher that has inspired Kane to look into teaching.

“My sister definitely had a huge impact- at first she wanted to go to be a veterinarian and then ended up deciding to be an ag teacher and she loves it. She has so many successful students and I’m kind of seeing her impact and being like, ‘well, maybe that’s where I can go and maybe I can kind of be like her.’”
