IDOT’s newest MYP will cover the next six years in transportation infrastructure repairs and updates, lasting through fiscal year 2029, and will invest $41 billion collectively over the course of that period in a variety of projects. This money will come from a combination of federal, state, and local funds.
In this annual update to the MYP, roughly $27 billion is earmarked for roads and bridges, including adding more lanes on U.S. 34 between Monmouth and Oquawka.
In Warren County, $63.7 million for additional lanes of 4.6 miles and utility adjustments from Township Road 190 east of Biggsville to 20th Street south of Kirkwood. And in Henderson County, $169.7 million for new construction of 8.7 miles from west of Carman Road to Township Road 111.
The remaining $14 billion will be used for public transit, rail, aviation, ports, waterways, and other projects.
