With more and more people paying by credit or debit cards these days, the “bad actors” have increased their use of placing skimmers at points of purchase to steal the information of that card and use illegally later on. Monmouth Police Department Investigator Josh Kramer explains how to identify if a skimmer has been placed:

Additionally, checking your bank and credit card accounts regularly will help in spotting any out of the ordinary transactions that you have not made or approved. If an account has been compromised, report it to your bank or credit card issuer immediately.
