Pamela Sue Hulse, 76, of Galesburg, died at 6:36 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.

She was born November 22, 1946 in Galesburg, the daughter of Gerald Eugene and Clara Belle (Brush) Hopping. Pam was reared and educated in Galesburg, graduating from high school in 1964. She married Harold Hulse on January 23, 1965 in Galesburg and together they raised their two children. They later divorced, however, the two remained dear friends. Pam worked at Hallmark for around twenty years, working her way up to be a regional manager. She then worked at Butler Manufacturing for a few years. Pam last worked as a 3rd shift supervisor at St. Mary’s Square for about eight years, retiring in 2009.

Left to cherish her memory is one son, Rhett (Tracee) Hulse of Galesburg; one daughter, Angelique (Hulse) Schott of Galesburg; seven grandsons: Rogue, Rebel, and Renegade Schott, and Dallas, Rylan, Cajun, and Greek Hulse; and one great grandchild on the way. Also surviving is Harold “Greek” Hulse of Galesburg; and two sisters, Sheri Davis of Galesburg and Christy Hopping of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Terry Hopping; and a son-in-law, Robert Schott.

Pam’s all-time favorites were Elvis Presley, Jeff Gordon, and the film “Gone with the Wind”. She was an avid reader and a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. In her free time, she enjoyed arguing politics on the internet. Pam had the most impeccable handwriting. She was honest to a fault and will be remembered for how fiercely loyal, reliable, and trustworthy she was. Pam was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed deeply by all who knew her.

Cremation will be accorded. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Knox County Nursing Home. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
