Story by Kadin Rogers

The Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes football team is one of the many football squads that opens up their 2023 fall campaign this Friday night. A-Town will take the 50 minute bus ride east to take on Lincolnland Conference opponent Princeville in their season opener. Appearing on the WRAM morning show on Tuesday morning, Tornadoes Head Coach Rick Quinn previewed the match up with the Princes, stating that they will be a challenging team to open up with, as Princeville has been a routinely well coached and physical team.

A-Town’s Friday night match with Princeville will kick-off at 7 PM. The Tornadoes will look to rebound from their 2022 capmaign, a season that saw them finish with a 1-8 overall record. For the full interview with Coach Quinn, visit the Sports Podcast.
