Amanda Gabriel Sherwin, 34, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Sunday August 13, 2023.

Amanda was born May 1, 1989 the daughter of Thomas J. and Barbara J. (Boynton) Sherwin in Moline, Illinois. Amanda is survived by her parents Tom and Barb of Galesburg; three children, Ryan Sherwin, Cooper Sherwin, and Dylan Sherwin all of Galesburg; a brother, Mark Sherwin of Galesburg; a sister, Cassandra Sherwin of Los Angeles, California; and her nephew, Leo Sherwin. Amanda is also survived by maternal grandparents, Terry (Cara) Boynton and Charlotte Wetterow; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Amanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Joan Sherwin; and her step maternal grandfather, Terry Wetterow.

Amanda was full of life and always upbeat. Nicknamed “Smiley” while in high school, Amanda always had a big smile. She loved caring for people which led to her becoming a CNA. In her free time, she loved to read and write and be outdoors enjoying things like bonfires and fishing.

Private family services will be held. A celebration of life for Amanda will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for her children. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
