Due to construction to the Monmouth-Roseville Junior High School building in Roseville, the annual Titan junior high football camp was not able to be held. Because of that unfortunate circumstance, practices for the upcoming season will start a week earlier than normal. The first Monmouth-Roseville junior high football practice will be held on Monday morning at the junior high football field in Roseville. Practice for next week will be hold on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, starting at 8:30am and will run until 11am. For players that live outside of Roseville, a bus will be available in front of Monmouth-Roseville High School at 8:00 each morning and return at 11:20. Here’s Titan head football coach Todd Wetterling with more details on the first day of practice on Monday.
Numbers in football programs from high school to jfl football have declined in many cases since the covid pandemic. Which is a shame, says Wetterling, because the game of football teaches so many lessons that kids can take with them into other sports and life, in general.
The first game for the Monmouth-Roseville Titan football squad is set for September 5th at Kewanee Central Junior High. The first home game is scheduled for the following week, September 12th in Roseville against Knoxville.
