Two new businesses have recently opened in the City of Galesburg, a Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Lover, and a multi-vendor arts and crafts mall Country Square Treasurers. Knox County Area Partnership President Ken Springer shared both businesses were able to utilize funding available through the City for new start-up businesses:
“These are a couple of start-ups that have utilized the City of Galesburg’s start up programs, which the City funds the start-up grant at a rate of about $250,000 per year. Individual businesses can get between $5,000 and $10,000 from the program. They have to be new start-ups. They have to be start-ups that are owned and operated by either women or minorities or folks with disabilities.”
Additionally, Graham Medical Group has broke ground on their nearly $8 million investment on North Seminary in Galesburg.
