Beach Scores Twice but Monmouth College Women’s Soccer Falls at Edgewood

The Monmouth College women’s soccer team got two goals from Danielle Beach (Geneseo, Illinois) but lost at Edgewood College 4-2 on Saturday.

Edgewood scored four goals in the first 26 minutes to lead 4-0. They netted in the seventh, 17th, 20th and 26th minute to build their lead. Beach scored an unassisted goal in the 28th minute to make it 3-1 at halftime.

Neither team scored in the next 50 minutes. Beach scored another unassisted goal with 10:17 to play to make it 4-2. The final 10 minutes went scoreless and Edgewood claimed the 4-2 win.

Anna Caster (Greenfield, Indiana) made five saves in goal in the first half. Lea Selquist (Peru, Illinois) made six saves in the second half while not allowing a goal.
