Share

As remote and contract work has seen an increase, Carl Sandburg College President Dr. Seamus Reilly states being located in west Central Illinois, there are several major industries close by that their offered classes and trades programs feed into:

“We look around at what major industries are in the state of Illinois, number one being agriculture, everybody always forgets that, but agriculture, supply chain management, and manufacturing. One of the great things about this area is that we are close to major centers and major centers of manufacturing. We are also close to major centers of healthcare. Whether it be preventative medicine, the expansion of that, we are living longer, so there will be opportunities for occupational therapy, there will be opportunities for nursing which involves going to the patients location of where they are living.”

With the constant change of innovative technology in healthcare, Dr. Reilly says their programs continue to grow and expand in offering the latest training for students.
