Hancock County Sheriff’s Department Conduct Arrests on Theft and Burglary

Hancock County Sheriff Travis Duffy reports the following arrests on Hancock County Warrants. These warrants were issued as a result of many hours of investigation into thefts and burglaries in Hancock County.

Wyatt J. Brown (Carthage, age 25) was arrested on September 10, 2023 by Carthage Police Department and Hancock County deputies. Brown had a Hancock County warrant for his arrest with the charge of Theft, a class 3 felony. Bond was set at $50,000 with 10% to apply.

Brown remains lodged in the Hancock County Jail. Additional charges are expected to the filed at a later date.

Kari J. Howe (Warsaw, age 37) was arrested on September 11, 2023 by Hancock County deputies. Howe had a warrant for her arrest for Burglary, a class 2 felony, and Theft, a class A misdemeanor. Bond was set at $10,000 with 10% to apply.

Howe posted the required bond and was released. Additional charges are possible at a later date.

Sheriff Duffy also reports that more arrest warrants are being requested as deputies close more investigations.

All arrested persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
