Kathryn Rose “Katie” Kesinger, 33, of St. Peters, MO, formerly of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 3:34 pm, Saturday, September 23, 2023 at her home.

Katie was born August 14, 1990 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Harvey E. and Rosemary H. (Driscoll) Kesinger.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Immaculate Conception School and later Monmouth High School in 2008.  She attended St. Ambrose University and later graduated from Blackhawk Community College as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

She worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant at West County Care Center in Winchester, MO and Town & County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Town and County, MO. She previously worked at Heartland Care Center and the McDonough District Hospital, both in Macomb, IL before moving to Missouri.

She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Green Bay Packer fan.  Her fur baby, Mollie, was her light. Katie and Mollie were inseparable.  She loved painting, reading, kayaking, playing board games, going to movies, concerts, and the zoo.  She enjoyed being with her family and fiancé, Erica.  They were always up for a new adventure.

Survivors include her parents, fiancé, Erica Shih of St. Peters; her brother, Jason (Nicole) Brockett of Knoxville, IL; 3 nieces, Mikalya Brockett, Gracie Brockett and Jaydin Brockett; maternal grandmother, Martha Driscoll of Monmouth; aunts and uncles, David (Margaret) Kesinger, John (Diane) Kesinger, Peggy Salazar, Susan (Bruce) Mills, Janet Cohn, Peggy Watson, Susan (Kenny) Byers and Randy Louck; numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Don and Marcia Kesinger; maternal grandfather, Claire Driscoll and aunts, Mary Louck and Donna Warren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Monmouth. Visitation will be Friday, September 29, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the Katie Kesinger Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
