The United Red Storm football team is off to a nice start in their 2023 fall campaign. United opened the season with a 14-6 road win over Mercer County, before hosting Rushville-Industry last Friday night, downing the Rockets 34-22 to improve to 2-0 on the year. The 2-0 start for the Red Storm is their best start to a season since the 2015-2016 school year. United’s next test is a conference matchup within the Lincolnland-Small School Division, with the Red Storm welcoming in the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars tonight at UHS. As the Red Storm gear up for their contest with undefeated ROWVA/Williamsfield, United Head Coach David Milroy praised his team for their communication during practices and games, and their overall coachability, which has helped spark a new energy for this year’s Red Storm squad.

United vs ROWVA/Williamsfield will kick-off tonight from United High School at 7:00. You can hear all the action from tonight’s contest live on AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM, coverage will begin with the pre game show at 6:40.

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan football squad garnered their first victory of the season in week 2 last week, getting a 21-14 win over Bureau Valley in Manlius. The Titans defense stopped the Storm on the final play of the game in the red zone to secure the win. Several different players have stepped up so far in the (1-1) season so far for Monmouth-Roseville. The depth really showed up in the win over Storm, with multiple players making big contributions. Titan head coach Jeremy Adolphson says he expects that style should continue throughout the season.

Monmouth-Roseville will try to run their winning streak to two games tonight as they host (0-2) Erie-Prophetstown at Coach Dobry Field in Monmouth. Hear it on Sunny 97.7 WMOI with the pregame show at 6:40, kickoff is set for 7:00. You can also hear both games tonight live online at radiomonmouth.com or on our free 1330 WRAM or 97.7 WMOI apps for your smartphone or tablet.
