The West Central Heat 8-man football team got into the win column this past Friday with a 56-6 road victory over the Galva Wildcats. West Central’s offense was headlined this week by big days from senior Isaiah Stephson and sophomore Cody Wade, with Stephson rushing for 159 yards and 3 touchdowns, and Wade rushing for 215 yards and 3 scores on 19 combined carries for the two backs. All 6 touchdowns from the Heat’s two leading rushers came from long distance, as West Central ran in scores of 45, 50, 57, 60, 65, and 85 yards in the dominant win over Galva. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, West Central Head Coach Jason Kirby talked about his upcoming opponent in Bushnell Prairie-City, as the Heat return home this Friday to take on the Spartans for their 2023 homecoming game.

The Heat currently sit at 1-4 overall heading into their Friday night game with BPC, and are still in contention for a return to the I8FA State Playoffs. West Central’s homecoming game vs the Spartans will kick-off from West Central High School at 7:00.
