Story by Kadin Rogers

The West Central Heat 8-man football team is still vying for a potential I8FA playoff spot heading into the final week of the regular season. West Central has made a major turnaround from the start of their season. The Heat went 0-4 in their first four contests, allowing over 48 points per game and scoring just 21 points per game. Since this early season skid however, the Heat have compiled a 3-1 record in their latest 4 matchups, allowing just 24.5 points per game and scoring 44.5 points per game in those contests. Speaking about their turnaround on the WRAM Morning Show on Wednesday, Heat Head Coach Jason Kirby talked about how his coaching staff has helped West Central stay on track this season.

The Heat now sit at 3-5 on the season after their Saturday 34-18 loss to Milford/Cissna Park, but are still in the mix for the I8FA playoffs with a win against West Prairie/Southeastern this Friday night. That game will kick-off at 7:00 from Sciota. For the full interview with Coach Kirby, visit the Sports Podcast section.
