Joyce Ann Foster, 80, of Galesburg, died on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.

She was born February 22, 1943 in Brimfield, the daughter of Everett Henry and Violet Rose (Rynerson) Foster. Joyce was reared and educated in Brimfield, graduating from high school in 1961. She worked at Admiral’s and later worked at Grand View Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Peoria for about 15 years before retiring.

Mother of two sons, Calvin E. Spinks of Houston, Texas, and Christopher E. (Patricia) Foster of Galesburg; and one daughter, Jamie S. Henderson of St. Louis, Missouri. Grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, AC Spinks III; seven brothers; and four sisters.

Joyce was a member of Light House Baptist Church in Galesburg. She enjoyed thrifting, crafting, and crocheting. Joyce also liked fishing, mushrooming, going to yard sales and the riverboat. She was an active grandmother.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
