Story by Kadin Rogers

The United Red Storm golf program has been sending several golfers at all levels on to deep postseason runs. Recently the United High School boys golf team competed in sectional action at Fyre Lake Golf Club in Sherrard, while the Red Storm girls team also competed in a 1A sectional meet in Pontiac. Just this week United sent two girls golfers to state at the junior high level. 7th graders Abby Kendell and Kennedy Martin, after placing 6th and 9th place respectively at Madison Golf Course in Peoria, went on to compete in the state finals in Metamora. Appearing on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, both Abby and Kennedy talked about their experience at the Metamora State Finals, and expressed their interest to continue playing golf throughout their Red Storm school career.

Abby would shoot a 125 good for 70th, while Kennedy shot a 116 good for T-63th at state. For the full interview with both golfers, as well as Head Coach Tim Bresnahan, visit the Sports Podcast section of our website, radiomonmouth.com.
