Both the United Red Storm and Monmouth-Roseville football teams are locked into huge matchups tonight as the 2023 fall regular season winds down. For the Red Storm, they currently sit at 2-4 overall after their latest loss to the Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes last Friday night. United started the season at 2-0 with wins over Mercer County and Rushville/Industry, but have been on a 4 game skid since their hot start. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show on Thursday, United Head Coach David Milroy talked about the team’s upcoming matchup with South Fulton, stating that his team is going to need to play fast tonight.
United and South Fulton both sit at 2-4 on the season, and are both one loss away from elimination from the IHSA playoffs. Tonight’s senior night contest for the Red Storm will kick-off from United High School at 7:00, you can hear all the action from that game live on AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM, coverage will begin with the pregame show at 6:40. The aforementioned Monmouth-Roseville Titans are also at home tonight, hosting their senior night contest against the Kewanee Boilermakers. M-R sits at 3-3 on the season through six weeks, but is also on a losing skid after they dropped their last two games against great teams in the Morrison Mustangs and Rockridge Rockets. Appearing on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, Titans Head Coach Jeremy Adolphson discussed tonight’s important matchup with a very solid Kewanee squad, stating that they want to match the agression that the Boilermakers will bring tonight as the Titans look for another home win on the season.
