Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1, 2023:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior boys soccer player, Bruntsh Bolese. Bruntsh was all over the score sheet in wins over A-Town and Riverdale last week. He scored a hat trick of 3 goals and added 2 assist in the victory over Riverdale. Earlier in the week, Bruntsh posted 2 of the 3 Titans goals in a win over A-Town.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior volleyball player, Reece Bertelsen. Reece was named to the highly competitive Orion-All Tournament Team for her great all-around performance on the court. For the day, she pounded 19 kills and hustled her way to 19 digs. Reece was also solid from the serving line, scoring 20 points with no errors.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Isiah Stephson. For the second week in a row, Isiah put up eye-popping numbers on the football field. His totals in an impressive win over a solid BPC squad were even better than the week before. Isiah ran for an amazing 365 yards on an even more amazing 44 carries, reaching the endzone on 5 of those trips.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys golfer, John Crowl. John placed 5th at the class 2A regional at Gibson Woods, qualifying him for the sectional tournament. Earlier this year, he made the Western Big Six All-Conference team with a 10th place finish. John was also the individual runnerup at his final Silver Streak Invitational.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Drew Sheckler. Drew was a beast on the offensive and defensive side of the ball in a win over United. He rushed for 127 yards on 13 carries, getting into the endzone 3 times. Drew also caught a pass for 31 more yards and had 12 tackles on defense.
