Anne Rose Altis,92, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 5:38 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2023 at Monmouth Nursing Home surrounded by her family.   

She was born November 27, 1930 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Harold and Neva (Glidden) Bland.  She was raised and educated in Aledo, graduating from Aledo High School in 1948. 

Anne met the love of her life and soon later married James “Bill” Altis in Aledo, IL on February 18, 1949 and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2015.

Anne started her career working for a telephone company as a telephone operator, then worked as a cashier for Kroger for 23 years, and retired from Shopko.

Anne didn’t know a stranger.  She loved everyone and everyone loved her.  She loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles, and reading in her free time.  She spent a lot of her free time helping with gardening and yard work at her home. 

Surviving Anne are her children, Donnie (Barb) Altis, Connie Faulkner and Mary Kaye Altis all of Monmouth, IL; 6 grandchildren, Cathy (Aljon) Soto, Amy (Scott) Hume, Nicki Taylor, Carol Altis, Kelly Hull, Casey (Brian) Davis, 16 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 2 nephews; and one niece. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Gary Bland, and her sister, Carole Vandemark.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Interment will be in Candor Cemetery, Seaton.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
