Carol J. Temple, 87, of Galesburg, died at home, Sunday morning, November 5, 2023.

She was born February 17, 1936, in Yates City, the daughter of Roger and Caroline (Vancil) Baughman. She married Curtis D. Temple on October 1, 1955, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1996, after over 40 years of marriage.

She is survived by a son, and Robert (Ramona) Temple of Galesburg; a daughter, Susan Temple of Galesburg; two brothers, Dennis N. Baughman of Omaha, Nebraska, and Roger L. Baughman of Galesburg; a sister, Phylis M. Crockett of Atkinson; a daughter in law Sandra Temple of East Galesburg; and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Daniel Temple and Randy D. Temple; two sisters, Betty Stromgren and Myrna E. Godsil; and two brothers, Richard L. Baughman and Robert K. Baughman.

Carol was born and raised in Galesburg, where she graduated from Galesburg High School in 1954. After marrying Curtis and starting a family, Carol spent her time raising and caring for her family as a homemaker.

Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 PM on Friday November 10, 2023, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:30 PM. Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in Carol’s name may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left on the funeral home’s website at www.h-p-w.com.
