Delores A. Olson, age 91, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at the

Henderson County Retirement Center in Stronghurst, Illinois on Monday

November 13, 2023 at 10:27 pm. Delores was born on August 12, 1932 in

Gladstone, Illinois and is the daughter of Adolphus and Sarah Simmins

Hinshaw. She was raised in Oquawka where she attended the Oquawka Grade

School and later the Oquawka High School. On October 6, 1951 Delores

married Ralph N. “Bun” Olson in Monmouth, Illinois; and he preceded her

in death on March 5, 2003. Delores began work when she was 16 at

Rigale’s Grocery Store and worked there until later when she worked at

the Olson Restaurant in Oquawka. She lastly was a secretary in the

Circuit Clerk’s office in the courthouse in Oquawka, until her

retirement. Delores is survived by her children, Christine Scott of

Oquawka, Illinois, and two sons, Marc Olson (Loretta) of Burlington,

Iowa and Bryan Olson (Vicki) of Hankamer, Texas. Also surviving are five

grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in her

death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers and sisters.

As were her wishes, no visitation or funeral is planned at this time.

Interment of her and her husband’s ashes will be in the Oquawka

Cemetery. Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka is in charge of her care.
