Helen G. Bogard, 76, of Galesburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
Helen was born December 23, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the daughter of Harold L. and Iris (Jennings) Wise. She married Bill Bogard in 1993. Together, they celebrated 30 years of marriage. Surviving Helen are her husband, Bill, at home; children, Scott (Chelsey) King of West Haven, Utah and Heather Soderquist of Farmington, Utah; grandchildren, Paysen, Gunner King, Katie McKenna, Amelia and Maximus Ryball; siblings, Ileta Bray of Utah, Lois Morten of California and Harold J. Wise of Utah/Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Helen was a graduate of Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah. While living in Utah, she worked as an executive secretary. After moving to Illinois in 1997, she worked as in purchasing/accruement for the Galesburg Research Hospital and what would later become Zellers. Helen retired in 2017. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Helen loved her dogs and visiting the shoppes and Innkeepers on Seminary Street. She was known for keeping her house spotless. Helen lived a good life, full of love, family and friends.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be from 4-6 PM, Monday, November 20, 2023 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Interment will be held at a later date in Utah. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville have been entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be given to the family.
