Tickets are on sale now for the Prairie Players Civic Theatre production of Over the River and Through the Woods, a warm-hearted, boisterously funny, touching story about intergenerational relationships and deep familial love.
Performances are Friday and Saturday, November 10, 11, 17 and 18, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 12 and 19, at 2 p.m. at Prairie Players Civic Theatre, 160 South Seminary Street, Galesburg. Tickets are $16 for adults and $9 for students and are available at prairieplayers.com.
In Over the River and Through the Woods, you’ll be laughing out loud and rooting for Nick (played by Jason LeFebvre), a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersy who visits both sets of grandparents (played by Bob and Vera Fornander, Gary Mustain, and Heather Norman) every Sunday for dinner. When Nick is offered his dream job on the west coast, the grandparents scheme to keep Nick around, including bringing the lovely–and single–Caitlin (played by Katryna Weingart) to dinner.
“The actors are amazing and are creating such fun and relatable characters,” says Director Kenny Knox. “Over the River and Through the Woods is equal parts funny and touching. People who take time out of their busy schedules to see this production will be truly entertained.”
Over the River and Through the Woods, written by Joe Depietro, is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
