Special Permit Granted for Solar Farm by Warren County Board

Share

The Warren County Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a special permit for a solar farm on the outskirts of Monmouth, explains Buildings and Grounds Chair Sean Cavanaugh:

“A solar farm on the property owned by Gary Martin. It is 42 acres, 5 megawatt solar farm. There is a waiting list to be able to put these things up. So the special use permit is good for 36 months that way as more people are off the waiting list and become operational, then that project will be in the works.”

Cavanaugh and Board Chairman Mike Pearson also report there has been a company present a proposal for utilizing part of the county’s farm to install solar arrays, which will be discussed further next month at the Warren County Board meeting.
